First the “Bronx” sex shop and now this… Do people in Amsterdam have a New York obsession?

I suppose New York *was* New Amsterdam… Maybe people in Amsterdam still want to celebrate that connection?

there is a New York Is Dutch festival every year. we celebrate the fact that a lot of our words (stoop, boss) and culture (cookies, crullers) and original settlement comes from the Dutch. as well as yummy cheese. oh, and by the way, the Bronx is from the name of a landowner, who gave his name to the river that runs through the area (the Bronx river)… giving the borough and county the name: The County of the Bronx River. and Johanes Broncks was swedish… not dutch.
