Doctor Who thing: what fragrances would the 11 Doctors wear?

Reader Grant Osborne alerts me to a project at his site basenotes, a blog about fragrances and perfumes. Grant explains:

One of my writers has paired each Doctor with which fragrance that suits them the most — with the caveat that it should be a fragrance launched during the tenure of that Doctor.

We illustrated each one with either a perfume ad spoof, or a scene featuring the Doctor and the fragrance. As a teaser – here is Jon Petwee as Yves Saint Laurent….

Basenotes writer Persolaise explains the choice:

Pertwee’s Doctor was the blokiest, most James Bond-like of the lot (ruffled shirts notwithstanding) so he would certainly have gone for YSL’s 70s hit: it’s clean, citrusy and aromatic, but it also possesses an odd, metallic edge. Just right.
