So much walking in Paris! Sometimes you just have to sit down…

…as we did on our way to the Musee d’Orsay.

Where we found that — for the second day in a row! — museum workers were on strike. (More on the strike at The New York Times.)

So instead we went — more walking! — to the nearby Musée de l’Orangerie, which features impressionist and postimpressionist works, such as by Cezanne…

…and Modigliani:

“That’s not a Picasso!” (That is indeed a Picasso, Nigel.)

“Now that’s a Picasso!” (Yes, also a Picasso.)

We got a souvenir cup in the cafe!

The highlight of the Orangerie, and the reason most people visit, is for the huge waterlilies paintings by Monet:

Is that an art exhibit in the background in the first photo? Salvador Dali’s “The Persistence of Trash Cans”?
