London photos: lanterns along Piccadilly at Lumiere London

lanternslumiere1

Two weekends back, London played host to an absolutely marvelous festival of lights called Lumiere London. For four evenings, some of the most famous areas of Central London turned off their usual lighting and let special art installations incorporating light illuminate the night.

The lanterns strung across Piccadilly were simple, but beautiful. I wish they would have left them there forever. The colors of the lighting on the buildings kept changing too:

Tomorrow, the last of my photos and video from Lumiere London, of my favorite installation. Use the “Lumiere London” tag to find the other posts in this series.
