London photos: Westminster Abbey transformed at Lumiere London

westminsterabbeylumiere1

Two weekends back, London played host to an absolutely marvelous festival of lights called Lumiere London. For four evenings, some of the most famous areas of Central London turned off their usual lighting and let special art installations incorporating light illuminate the night.

Westminster Abbey was completely transformed with light, which was continuously changing color.

Even more amazingly, the facade of the structure — which is actually a uniform stone color — looked as if it has been painted.

I don’t know how the artist got so precise with the color.

Wowzer! I bet the artist was inspired by the fact that all cathedrals used to have the stone figures painted!
