one of my absolute favorites… his poetry and poetic soul were real gifts. so glad i finally saw him in person on his last tour around. Dance Me to the End of Love, Leonard. you will be missed.

I was just now reading about him in the current Rolling Stone, how he made his new album with his son’s help, and how he carried on with his passion, whatever it took. There was still more to come from him. He just ran out of time. Thank the Maker for his new album. Thank you, Leonard, for everything.

I’ll be honest, Cohen is one of my favorite musicians, but this doesn’t make me sad. He had a full life and said he was prepared to go whenever his time came.

My favorite song of his is “Anthem.” It’s a prophetic song about finding hope for the future even when times seem their darkest. For obvious reasons, I’ve been thinking about it a lot the last few days.
