Peter Jackson is video-blogging the production of The Hobbit, and here’s our first look at everyone in action. Seeing Jackson’s love and enthusiasm for the project here, it’s hard to imagine that the film was ever going to happen without him as director:

Nice bit with Richard Armitage, and I love Martin Freeman’s modesty here — “I’m in the cast as well.” The ceremony to bless the production is sort of amazing, and I got chills seeing that image from the first day of shooting, the one we watch on the monitor over Jackson’s shoulder. I won’t say what it is: see if it gives you chills too.
