journalmalism at its finest: what ‘The Independent’ thinks about its content (and its readers)

A lovely puff piece ran yesterday at The Independent. (And by “lovely” I mean ridiculous, of course.) It began with this headline:

Kate Middleton jelly bean expected to fetch £500

And you already knows how it goes from there, because you’ve read crap like this before in all the finest journalistic establishments.
But here’s the punchine. The URL at which you will find this fine piece of empty nonsense?

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/food-and-drink/utter-PR-fiction-but-people-love-this-shit-so-fuck-it-lets-just-print-it-2269573.html

I’m thinking that was the working headline, and it found its way into the paper’s database.

Pay no attention to the whores behind the curtain, folks…
