question of the day: What are your favorite movies about politics or politicians?

Dave Kevin Kline

Following on from yesterday’s governmental theme:
What are your favorite movies about politics or politicians?

I love Dave, with Kevin Kline as a presidential double who steps into the actual White House when the real president suffers a catastrophic stroke. He becomes a very catharthic stand-in for us in how he expresses outrage at Washington inertia — the scene in which he brings in his accountant friend (played by Charles Grodin) to fix the federal budget is a marvelous fantasy that captures how I think many people feel about how we’d get stuff done if we suddenly found ourselves in such a position.

You?
