Huh? A bazillion comic book superhero films or a gazillion Star Wars movies: good. But a stream of young adult fantasy films: bad?

The only thing that Hollywood loves more than creativity is trying to stifle creativity by pushing out a horde of copies and knock-offs, some good, some horrible.

Well, some of the comic book fans are happy with Marvel’s plans to unleash more of their heroes onto the big screen. And at first Star Wars fans and others were happy that JJ Abrams was now going to renew the franchise. I admit that there are some mixed feelings over Disney’s plans to seemingly have an “all Star Wars all the time” schedule of films and possible TV shows. But even here, there are fans who say “bring it on!”

Either way, the studios will probably over saturate the market until filmgoers cry “Enough!”

And hopefully, there will be at least a few good films in the pile. Until the next mountain of zombie vampire movies.

First, plagiarizing someone else’s fan fiction for your own fan fiction might be the most pathetic concept I’ve ever come across.

Second: Clearly, I have chosen the wrong life path for myself. I should have been turning my Doctor Who fanfic into barely disguised “original” fiction, and started cashing checks.

Clare is a little different. She ripped off other fanfiction writers, which is pathetic enough as it is. If you get into what she’s published, there are direct rip-offs of lines and jokes, particularly from the Buffy TV show.
