I can always tell…

…who the other geeky critics are at press screenings, cuz we’re the only ones who sit all the way through to the end of the credits to see if there’s a little easter eggs waiting for us there.

Like at my X-Files screening this afternoon. I — and just a few other critics — sat through to the end… and we were not disappointed.

MaryAnne —

Is there any chance that — given that you see so many movies and would seem to be inclined to stay through the credits for easter eggs — you could post some kind of icon in your list of recent screenings to indicate that there’s something to see if you stay to the end? Not any kind of endorsement or review or even description of whatever it is, just a flag of some kind to show that there’s something there.

I read most of your reviews after I’ve seen the films, since even a spoiler-free review will color my experience of a movie, but it would be great if I could see ahead of time if there’s anything at the end of the credits.

Thanks!

Ooh, I would love Plan Mark! My husband is always dragging me out of theaters as the lights go up and the teenage ushers start sweeping the aisles, and I insist that *maybe* there’s something at the end of the credits! If I could cite hard evidence, then I could get him to quit whining. And there would be peace in our time.

Of course, we still wouldn’t know if there was an easter egg at the end of the credits for Meet Dave. ;-)

But I agree that MaryAnn could do us all a huge service by putting something in her reviews that tells people “sit through the credits for something interesting and/or cool”.

I heard rumor that at the end credits, Robert Downey Jr and Ed Norton enter the basement office of the Hoover Building to offer Scully a spot on the Avengers Initiative…

… and to see it, of course !!!
And since I´ll be on holiday in NYC in August, it´s likely that I´ll watch it there … trough the end of credits, thanks to you …

I agree with Mark’s request. Saw TDK last night, but it was so long and late, I didn’t want to sit through the credits. I am going to assume, based on the lack of information out there regarding it, that there wasn’t anything following the credits.

The most recent movie I know of to do this was Iron Man., and it was all over the net. According to one of MAJ’s earlier posts, critics were not privvy to the secret “addition” to Iron Man.

I’ll see what I can come up with to indicate a credits tag…

I always sit all the way through the credits, so I can tell you there wasn’t anything at the end of The Dark Knight. There is a nice 10 second or so scene at the end of Kung Fu Panda, and there was a small bit at the end of Get Smart, and of course Iron Man. I can’t think of any others at the moment…

I really want to see the X-Files movie now, I’m absolutely thrilled its coming out but the previews have me wondering a bit about where Scully and Mulder have been since the last episode of the X-Files years ago, and what happened to their kid. Don’t say anything though, I want to be surprised.

The crowd over at AICN is panning X-Files. I was “meh” excited about it before, but now I’m pretty much with the “wait for video” crowd. Didn’t really think it would be anything more than a feature length episode anyway. I’ll wait for more reviews to come in though.
