trailer break: ‘Tales of the Black Freighter’

Take a break from work: watch a DVD trailer…

I’ll be curious to see how this stands up on its own, as a separate story. Because it’s so integrated into the story of Watchmen, and its impact is so tied up with the contrast and parallel with the main story, that I suspect it will be somewhat diminished as a standalone story.

On the other hand: I don’t mind listening to Gerard Butler’s voice for any length of time, so it has that in its favor.

I’ve already got a copy of this in my greedy little geekgirl hands, and will review it soon.

Tales of the Black Freighter will be released on Region 1 DVD on March 24, and on Region 2 DVD on April 6.

1. Oh hell yeah!

2. Yippee. And I’m extremely jealous. (see #1 above.)
