so, Christopher Eccleston and Gillian Anderson in ‘A Doll’s House’ in the West End…

Yes, I did a fangirl swoon when I learned just the other day that Gillian Anderson and Christopher Eccleston were about to hit the boards in London in a new production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House at the Donmar Warehouse. And yes, it made me want to run up the credit cards again for a hop across the pond…

But it appears the show is all sold out, already.

And then it struck me: I’ll try to wrangle a seat for the press night, coming up real soon on May 19. And I shot off an email to the publicist earlier today… and she got back to me almost immediately (on a Sunday!) to say, The press night is all booked up. But I’m on a waiting list, apparently.

My luck, I’ll get a call the day of the show to let me know someone cancelled and I’ve got a seat, and I’ll still be on the wrong side of the Atlantic.

*sigh*

But I may try for tickets for later in the run. Because the credit cards are always there to be run up…

Press night! Clever strategy. You will have to nudge the press person by email as it gets closer and remind her you are in NYC.. just in case. But good effort in any case.

I had read on the Donmar site that there were ten tickets available each day-and despite the fact I just was hired back to my old job after months out of work, I actually considered trying to make the trip using my tax refund and credit cards.

However, I just don’t have enough vacation earned yet to fly from the West Coast of the US to London-and I am not at all sure I want to camp out all night for a ticket:) Suppose there will be some tickets available through various means as the run continues…

so want to go to this

chiclit if you check theatre monkey

excellent theatre site

i think it says there are 10 stalls standing tickets and 10 dress tickets that are sold on the day

but as there are only 250 seats in the theatre the likelihood of returns is reduced also

argh

still looking for your Midsummer’s review MaryAnn!
