trailer break: ‘Moon’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer…

Three years on the Moon, and two weeks to go? Oh, this can’t be good. That’s like being a movie cop and talking about how you’re getting ready to retire. That’s like being a soldier in a WWII movie and showing around a picture of your sweetheart who’s waiting at home for you. It’s a death sentence, right?

Also: Smiley-faced computers are gonna creep me out after this, aren’t they? And Kevin Spacey’s computer voice is gonna be all, “I’m sorry, Sam, I’m afraid I can’t do that,” isn’t it?

Moon opens in the U.S. on June 12, and in the U.K. on July 17.

Looks good. I will be immeasurably happier if the AI turns out not to be a bad guy, mind. (Mutter, mutter, biochauvinists…)

So… another dystopia where space is a one-way ticket to exploitation, insanity, and/or agonizing death.

Whoa! Deja vu!

(And people wonder why there isn’t more overwhelming public support for space exploration.)

Sam Rockwell is peculiarly gifted IMO. Not many make me feel a character’s inner life like he does. I first began taking notice in Galaxy Quest. His work in Joshua and Snow Angels especially cemented him as exceptionally gifted in my mind.
I’ll see it just because of Rockwell and Spacey (both incredibly talented actors who are extremely selective in their roles).

Let us know MaryAnn. I think I might be a tiny bit jealous, and that happens surprisingly infrequently.
