opening in the U.K. June 26: ‘My Sister’s Keeper,’ ‘Year One,’ ‘Sunshine Cleaning,’ more

My Sister’s Keeper: Cameron Diaz really really really really really really really doesn’t want one of her daughters to die. The other one? Not so much.

Year One: Why did I think this was opening in the U.K. last week? Last-minute date change, perhaps…?

Sunshine Cleaning: Amy Adams mops up crime scenes. It’s like CSI, but cute.

Blood: The Last Vampire: Think Buffy, if Buffy was incomprehensive and sucky. Bad sucky, not hot-vampire-suck-my-neck sucky, that is. [official site]
Rudo y Cursi: Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna as cutie football players. A bromance about sports? Genius, I guess. [IMDB]

Shirin: A camera watches more than a hundred Iranian women as they watch a sad movie. At a screening recently, the guy sitting next to me — whom I did not know — kept looking at me to see how I was reacting. I hated that. [IMDB]

Tenderness: Russell Crowe stars as a cop in this thriller from director John Polson. His last film was Hide and Seek, so perhaps it’s surprising he’s making another movie at all. [IMDB]
