The funny thing about this is that it’s completely true, we do know they were testing flying wings. While a revolutionary design that was ahead of its time, it’s still just an airplane. And a lot like our flying wings prior to the B-2 and fly-by-wire — efficient but still not necessarily the most practical bird. I would bet the reality of the German ‘UFO’ will turn out to also be a lot like our experiments with saucer-shaped flying wings — kinda like the regular flying wings, only worse. And even if they figured out how to make them work, it still would be normal aerodynamic propelled flight.
What it won’t have is the kind of crazy physics-defying super-technology that the classic saucer UFO is supposed to have. You don’t keep alien visitor rumors alive with stories about “an oddly shaped and pretty nifty aircraft”. Not exactly a lot of biting mystery there as to it’s human-made nature.
No, Mr. Conspiracy Theorist watching Discover Channel, you want to know what secret technology was developed covertly during WWII, based on esoteric knowledge and a desperate attempt to unravel some of the basic mysteries of the universe, to wield the power of science like the fist of god and strike down the enemy?

Oh my, I see you are informed. What you may not have heard is that the reason we haven’t been destroyed from within was that when our Hitler clone started to become evil, he was infused with the spirit of Roosevelt. This according to plan — the slow process of extracting FDR’s soul into a suitable container is what actually caused his death.
It’s funny there are actually people who believe that the sun isn’t powered by fusion, it’s just some big electric dynamo.

Hehe, gotta say that Iron Sky trailer looks awesome.
Yeah, the saucer wing concept can work well in cruise, but the stability is pretty horrid. You really need something like a modern dynamic flight control system to make it flyable at all. And even then it doesn’t do much better than a flying wing. (And note how well the B-49 and Cutlass did… or didn’t.)
