trailer break: ‘Burke and Hare’

I was sorta excited about this, but now we see why the trailer was held till just mere weeks before its U.K. release: It looks really, really stupid. I hope it’s just a terrible trailer, not an accurate reflection of a terrible movie, because this cast — Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Tim Curry, Tom Wilkinson, Jessica Hynes, Bill Bailey — is too good to be wasted on crap. Literally, on crap: multiple shit jokes in a single trailer is never a good sign.

Perhaps John Landis’s best work is behind him…

Burke and Hare opens in the U.K. on October 29; no U.S. or Canadian release dates have been announced.

As usual, MaryAnn’s insight was correct. It was really, really stupid. And unfortunately, not “so stupid it’s funny” stupid, either.
