trailer break: ‘Paranormal Activity 2’

So it looks like the woman who was being haunted in Paranormal Activity is back, and now she’s menacing dogs and babies. I didn’t find the first film all that terrifying, only momentarily cheaply distracting, and I can’t see how this won’t be more of the same.

Critics are supposedly going to be invited to a midnight showing of this on Wednesday, which is the extent of screenings for critics that I’m aware of, at least in New York City. I don’t imagine the studio thinks many critics will show up for this. I don’t think I’ll be able to. But I’ll check it out on Friday once it opens.

Paranormal Activity 2 opens in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. on October 22.
