The news broke yesterday: Anne Hathaway will play Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the 2012 The Dark Knight Rises, alongside Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne and Tom Hardy’s Bane; Christopher Nolan will direct again. Deadline New York has the complete press release, which includes Nolan gushing:
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.
I would have preferred someone who’s proven she’s capable of showing a dark side, like perhaps Rachel Weisz (who apparently had been lobbying for the role) or Rebecca Hall. What do you think?
