I ask this in all sincerity: What the fuck? What is this? What is this supposed to be, and what is it in actuality? What the fuck was anyone thinking? Has Jim Carrey finally and utterly lost it? Is this supposed to be some sort of bizarre midlife-crisis fantasy that adults will identify with? Are children intended to sympathize with a 50-year-old man who hangs out with flightless arctic fowl? What the hell?

Mr. Popper’s Penguins opens in the U.S. and Canada on June 17, and in the U.K. on August 5.
