trailer break: ‘Skeletons’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer…

The official description:

In this surreal comedy, Davis and Bennett are a mismatched pair of travelling salesman in the business of cleaning skeletons from closets, exposing hidden secrets and lies. Assigned to a big job by their boss, The Colonel, the pair find themselves up against their biggest challenge to date. When they arrive at a remote family home and can’t seem to get the job done, they discover you can’t always get away from your own skeletons.

Sounds cool. Can’t wait to see it. I’ll probably have to wait for the Region 2 DVD, unless we get lucky and IFC picks it up (it seems like their kind of thing).

Oh, and the film was just named best new British feature film at the just-wrapped Edinburgh Film Festival.

Skeletons opens in the U.K. on July 2; no U.S. or Canadian release date has been announced.

And it’s hello to Jason Isaacs – sporting another dodgy ‘tache by the looks of it.

Looks good, this: I like the deadpan, surreal tone of it. And it’s always a relief when a new British picture isn’t yet another piece of cockernee gangster tripe.

I like British movies, I like screwy comedies, but I have no idea what the hell this trailer is about. It’s a bunch of random vignettes of people arguing or doing something weird. Still, I’ll check it out on your say-so.

I was mildly amused until I got to “You’re being unprofessional”…I am now laughing so hard I’m crying.

That and the paperwork scene are more or less what my office is like at the moment, it was very cathartic. This looks sort of like a cross between the Office and Ghostbusters.
