Hey, I didn’t know J.J. Abrams was remaking The Goonies?
Looks like Super 8 isn’t just produced by Steven Spielberg, but actually could well be a lost Spielberg film from the 80s. I like. Well, it might have been nice if, in in the intervening decades, things had progressed enough so that it was a little girl with filmmaking ambitions at the center of the story, instead of the girl being just one more “type” in the gang. (You know, there’s the leader, the fat kid, the girl, etc.)
I guess this would have to be a genuinely science fictional flick for anything so outrageous as that to happen…
Super 8 opens in U.S. and Canada on June 10, and in the U.K. on August 19.
