Time travel with me back to June of this year, when our favorite Time Lord commented on U.S. electoral politics, via cartoonist Tom Tomorrow: (There’s more to the cartoon, but that’s the extent of the Doctor’s appearance.)
It’s official. He made the announcement during the National Television Awards in Britain (you can watch the video of that announcement at the BBC), and then he talked about it some more here.
