Thor The Dark World

Avengers: Infinity War movie review: it’s all been leading to this

Ten years of Marvel superheroism culminates in a battle for the universe itself. Exhausting, bitterly humorous, and gripped in a stunning finality, it’s almost too much to take in, yet somehow not enough.

Thor: Ragnarok movie review: it’s only the end of the world

Breezy, jokey, crammed with clever sci-fi ideas; the funniest MCU flick yet. Director Taika Waititi brings a new geeky verve we didn’t realize the series needed.

Doctor Strange movie review: even Marvel is now tired of origin stories

Busy with CGI to hide the emptiness where the emotional core should be. Even the mechanics of getting a man from mere mortal to demigod-in-a-cape are rote.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 review: black and white and web all over

Suffers badly by comparison with the cogent, witty Avengers flicks. This feels like a campy Saturday-morning cartoon left over from the 1970s.

evening clickbait: Disney hates you and wants you to pirate its films; TV show canceled for having too many smart, interesting girl characters; woman makes art, men diminish it; censoring the Internet doesn’t work; SeaWorld worried about Blackfish; why Thor 2’s hot kiss was so hot

is there any downside to rating films as to whether they pass the Bechdel Test?

Seems to me that the only possible “downside” to such a rating would be the discomfort some people may experience when they are suddenly forced to see how poorly women are represented on the big screen.

Thor: The Dark World review: Viking with a chance of wormholes

Think heavy-metal Lord of the Rings. With wormholes. It’s completely mad and kind of awesome.

Warring brothers! Ha. Tony Stark was right.

2013: London’s year to be devastated (Thor: The Dark World trailer)

First it was total anihilation in G.I. Joe: Retaliation; then will come some sort of terrorist bombing in Star Trek Into Darkness; and here we see Greenwich getting torn up by, apparently, an alien ship.
