trailer break: ‘Adventureland’

Take a break from work: watch a trailer…

“Life after college”? I thought this was gonna be a life-after-high school thing. After college, and he’s not even qualified for manual labor?

Now, the summer of 1987 was my first summer after high school, and the summer of 1988 was my first summer after dropping out of college, and it wasn’t that hard to find a decent job. I know — I was there.

Oh, but I’m reading too much into this: it’s all a joke. You can tell because there’s vomit and defecation references right in the trailer.

I bet there’ll be a pot joke in the actual movie, too. Man, that’d be awesome.

Adventureland opens in the U.S. on April 3, and in the U.K. on July 17.

I think he was only trying to look for a summer job because he needs the money for grad school or something. So that’s where the decent job thing comes from. Actually, I think this would have worked well if it was going on right now, instead of 1987, because no one is hiring unless you have experience. I had a tough time finding anything after I graduated from college a few years ago for exactly that reason.
