Is it really a documentary, or is it a fictional story about making a documentary? Did Charlyne Yi really just accidentally happen to run into her old friend Michael Cera, coincidentally one of the hottest young actors working today, while making an actual doc about not believing in love, and then really fall in love with him?
Stories differ. Could be it’s all fake. Could be Yi is now genuinely heartbroken because Cera just dumped her.
Could be all a giant put-on by Yi, who is known as a performance artist who takes comedy to strange and personal new levels.
Paper Heart opens in the U.S. on August 7; no U.K. release date has been announced.
