Take a break from work: watch a trailer…
Hey, did you know that Roman Polanski has a new movie about to hit screens? Yeah, neither did I. I wonder why everyone’s keeping it such a secret? Hmmmm…. Look at that cast: Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams — Timothy Hutton’s in this, too, though he doesn’t appear in the trailer. You’d think this would getting saturation advertising and marketing…
Weird, huh?
The Ghost Writer opens in limited release in the U.S. (and Canada?) on February 19; no U.K. release date has been announced.
Y’know, Maryann, I can only hope audiences stay away in droves. And, with his legal troubles, at long last, coming to some fruition, maybe this movie will die a slow agonizing death at the theaters and drop off into tv territory in short order.
The man is a slug of the first order and he was allowed to live and work with equanimity and seeming immunity from legal retribution for 32 years. I can only hope his asterisk rots in jail. But I’m sure if and when he gets sentenced for the evasion and is sent to prison for both of his crimes, he will petition the court for compassionat release because he is soooo oooold. Who cares? A crime is a crime. He has been weighed, measured, and found wanting. He needs to take responsibility, kiss his family good-bye, and ask them to come see him on visiting day.
PERIOD!
Anyone else thought they made a feature film based on the PBS show from the 90s? I was a bit disappointed it wasn’t it.
