trailer break: ‘The Good Guy’

Wow! Really? The cheating Wall Street asshole boyfriend? The sweet nice guy who’s on time and likes to read but is romantically doomed because everyone thinks he’s gay?

How do you think this one will end?

I always figured that when people say things like, “There are no new stories,” and “All the good stories have already been told” (by, like, Shakespeare and Dickens and those dudes), that was meant to be taken by writers trying to tell new stories as a, you know, challenge to at least try to find a new story, or at least a fresh angle on an old one. It’s not meant to be a capitulation before you even go into battle…

Oh, and it looks like we’re in for Alexis Bledel as the new reigning queen of rom-com niceness.

The Good Guy opens in limited release in the U.S. (and Canada?) on February 19; no U.K. release date has been announced.

Thanks. Now I have to go play Civilization for 14 hours. Great. I didn’t need to sleep tonight anyway.
