retro trailer: ‘The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother’

Take a look back at an old trailer…

More of Steven Moffat’s Sherlock arrives on BBC One tonight. (I still haven’t had a chance to watch “A Study in Pink” yet — *sigh.*)

In the meantime, enjoy Gene Wilder as a consulting detective who is even smarter than Sherlock Holmes, but somewhat more emotional.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ Smarter Brother is available on DVD in Region 1 from Amazon.com and from Amazon.ca, and in Region 2 from Amazon U.K.

Oh man, this has always been one of my favorite Wilder and Feldman movies.

Back when I was in my teens I had taped it off of TBS or some station and only knew the edited version. I rented it a video store to introduce a friend to it- I about died laughing once I saw the unedited version. :)

You need to make time for Sherlock, MaryAnn! It is so good!! Really scratches that Who-itch.

PLUS: Martin Freeman as Watson!!!!!!!!

(enough exclamation points to embarrass even Ain’t it Cool? maybe… but warranted!)
