You know that bit where Christina Applegate says to the men, “What the hell is wrong with you two?” I want to ask her and the other woman, what the hell is wrong with you? Why did you marry these idiots? Why do you stay married to these idiots? Do you want to be mothering an overgrown child instead of sharing a life with another actual adult?
Which brings me to this: I’m also hugely exhausted with that notion, which appears over and over again in American pop culture, from TV and movies to advertising. Men are children, and their wives act like their mothers. Why do men or women put up with this?
Also: I’m really starting to hate Owen Wilson.
