So, even when it comes to idiot male birds who pick their beaks and pee in the birdbath — and admit as much publicly! — they also deserve to have beautiful elegant lady birds on their wings. And they will win those beautiful elegant lady birds in the end, even though they’re gauche and crude and can’t even fly.
I just love seeing male fantasies and male inadequacies played out in children’s cartoons about talking animals. It does my heart good to know that bullshit stereotypes and assumptions are being passed intact to the next generation. Oo oo! Like the one about how it’s boy who have personal journeys of discovery, and girl are only there to support the boys on their way. I’m loving seeing that reinforced yet again.
