We’ve been talking about a not-so-hypothetical Three Stooges movie for more than two years, but now it seems as if it’s finally in the offing. Peter and Bobby Farrelly have cast MadTV’s Will Sasso as Curly and — as we just learned this week — Will & Grace’s Sean Hayes as Larry. As PopWatch notes:
It’s a tad surprising that the Farrellys would cast TV stars in a film that was intended to be an A-list affair.
That first possible cast — which we talked about in March 2009 — was:
Larry: Sean Penn
Moe: Benicio Del Toro
Curly: Jim Carrey
Now that the film has, it seemed, gone downmarket (and who knew anything about the Three Stooges had any downmarket to go to)…
Who should play Moe in the Farrelly Brothers’ Three Stooges movie?
It’s obviously not going to be someone with the standing of Del Toro. Think small screen…
