Netflix dumps Qwikster (whose stupid idea was that, anyway?)

Netflix

Oh, for the love of pete. Netflix CEO posted this at the Netflix blog this morning:

DVDs will be staying at netflix.com

It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult, so we are going to keep Netflix as one place to go for streaming and DVDs.

This means no change: one website, one account, one password… in other words, no Qwikster.

This, of course, comes less than a month after Netflix announced the horrible decision that it is now reversing.

If only Netflix had bothered to ask a few customers what they thought of this change before the company announced it to the world as a done deal, all of this unpleasantness could have been avoided. I hope someone has learned his lesson from this experience.

Nah: He’ll probably get a huge bonus at year’s end. That’ll teach him…
