Isn’t about time someone made a film about Charles Dickens fighting zombies or killing vampires? Why hasn’t some modern novelist — or more likely, longform narrative television storyteller — stepped into Dickens’ shoes to take up the task of illustrating the plight of the poor and the dramatic inequities in everyday life?
