Safe Haven (trailer)

If Valentine’s Day is on the horizon, so must another movie based on a Nicholas Sparks book. Which looks like every other movie based on a Nicholas Sparks book. I’ve never read one of his novels, but I’m starting to wonder if he’s actually written more than one. Could it be that Hollywood just changes the characters names and keeps remaking that one book over and over again?

It looks terrible, but I’ll check it out, if just for the locations they filmed it in. My family vacations in Southport, and we were down there while shooting was taking place last summer. We only saw a film crew truck, and no cast members anywhere.

I was hoping to meet Cobie Smulders… but no such luck.

My one question after each Nicholas Sparks adaption trailer is: who’s going to die in this movie?

There is one decent thing about this trailer though: Lissie’s very decent cover of “Go You Own Way”.

My guess is that David Lyons (the psycho ex-husband) will get the shaft.

Assuming the heroine has indeed been abused, she’s showing much more sense than most escapees display (alas); so many of them hook up straight away with another man who’s just as bad as the last one. But of course it will end up being generic glurgey romance…
