The East trailer: Brit Marling intrigues me again, but I am forewarned

Star and screenwriter Brit Marling reunites with writer and director Zal Batmanglij, who together also made Sound of My Voice and Another Earth… both of which are highly intriguing yet neither of which is wholly satisfying. Maybe third time’s the charm?

Finally making the globo energy corps pay for their crimes! Certainly looks and sounds like a great idea. But I’ve said that before about their work…

Ooh, color me intrigued. Great cast (it’s nice to see Ellen Page getting work again), and the premise has lots of delicious possibilities. This looks to be a pretty good year for indie film so far.

FYI: Ellen Page is starring, along with Willem Dafoe, in one of the most anticipated video games of the Fall. I imagine her role took some time away from film acting.

Great, now I want to play that for Page and Dafoe alone, despite the backlog of games I own but haven’t gotten around to playing yet.

Brit Marling and Ellen Page in the same movie? You got my attention…

Good cast, but doesn’t say anything about where the story focus will be. And I have to say those two other films would be enough to put me off. Still, I agree, it at least manages to look interesting…

This movie also stars Patricia Clarkson and Julia Ormond? Yep. credit marling who was the script’s co-writer.
