How is it possible that every Judy Blume book hasn’t already been turned into so many different movies and TV shows that we’re sick of her name?
Oh. Right. It’s because they’re stories about girls. Damn.

There was the TV series “Fudge,” based on Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and the others in that series. Those were focused on boys, though. You’re right- I was stunned to see you say this is the first movie based on a Judy Blume book.

I’ve heard her described as the Meyer/Sparks of her day, all about Boys and True Love, but this doesn’t appear actually to be valid – much more seventies grot and Issues and “realism”, which the films-for-girls world could probably use a dose of just now.
