why is everyone so excited about the Batman/Superman news coming out of Comic-Con?

I Am Legend foresaw way back in 2007 that this would be happening:

What short memories we have…

(Yes, news from the Twitter says that Zack Snyder has announced a Batman + Superman movie for 2015.)

Given the people involved, I think I might start hoping for a zombie-vampire apocalypse before that monstrosity is unleashed upon us.

I’m ambivalent about this. I’d much rather see another solo Superman movie to explore the new MOS universe, flesh out the characters and their relationships, introduce interesting takes on villains like Luthor, and explore the ramifications of the events of the first film. With Batman in the movie (and a NEW Batman that the film will have to introduce, not a continuation of the Nolan/Bale version), I worry that the story won’t give Superman much room to breathe.

I’m all for a Batman/Superman movie down the line, but this feels a little too soon. Now, a Wonder Woman movie — THAT’S long overdue.

Don’t ask me, the last superhero film I really enjoyed was Iron Man. I’d much rather see a new story about new characters.

Zack Snyder? So I guess it’ll be Batman, Superman and strippers.

Sadly, we can’t really use this joke anymore. The only character who strips down at all in Man of Steel is Clark. (And maybe Zod, depending on if you view the Kryptonian bodysuits as underwear or not.)

Yeah, not too excited about this. I’m with Bluejay 100%. I’d rather have a 2nd Man of Steel first.
