Cold Comes the Night trailer: don’t you threaten her baby!

I’m gonna cling to the hope that Alice Eve actually gets to do some interesting stuff here, and doesn’t merely stand around screaming OH DEAR GOD NO NOT MY PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL.

Cuz motivating women by threatening their kids is about as tedious as motivating men by threatening their wives. People do things for other reasons, Movies. Don’t be so lazy all the time.

I like Eve. And I love Bryan Cranston (I’m not so sure about that accent, though). So, fingers crossed.

…anyone remember when Malcolm in the Middle was a comedy and stuff?

Well, given his antics at ComicCon this year (he wandered the convention floor wearing a life-like mask of himself) I’d say Cranston still considers himself a comedian. I suspect he’s just having fun taking all these roles as heavies that he’s suddenly being offered. And he’s good in them, to boot. The problem with the Total Recall remake wasn’t in his performance (or any of the cast, really).

OK, Roger’s New Trailer Interpretation System: ignore all the stuff that looks like “generic X movie” (in this case X = drugs/revenge), and judge base on what’s left. In this case, I think there’s nothing left to judge by. Might be interesting, might be not, there’s really no way to tell from this.
