Sunshine on Leith trailer: all singing, all dancing, all Scottish

I knew this is a musical, and I still wasn’t expecting soldiers to start singing in the middle of the street.

This is like Mamma Mia!, except the story is built around the songs of The Proclaimers. Apparently, they have more songs that just that “500 Miles” one. I did not know this.

Yes, The Proclaimers are heroes in Scotland (one David Tennant is one of their biggest fans). Todd in the Shadows did a good overview of their total career: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/teamt/tis/one-hit-wonderland/40108-one-hit-wonderland-im-gonna-be-500-miles-by-the-proclaimers

Opens in the UK on October 4. Looks like fun. I hope it finds a US distributor (if it hasn’t already).

I feel that this film is surely appealing exactly to a market segment, but it’s one with which I have nothing in common. It just left me cold. Am I becoming a sociopath?
