Doctor Who thing: the TARDIS at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights (Part 2)

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that, apparently, the TARDIS would be appearing at Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights, in a spooky attraction themed around the film An American Werewolf in London. I couldn’t find any other mention of this online beyond the Pop2It piece I quoted, and I asked any readers who might attend to send in a photo.

Skylar stepped up, and sent this:

Also, just overnight last night, Hunnus posted this comment on my first post:

I can confirm the Tardis. After I pointed it out a policeman scare actor jumped out and blew a whistle. It’s very hard to miss, in the London scene towards the end of the house on the right hand side. Very cool!

Very cool indeed. Thanks, Skylar and Hunnas!

But why would the TARDIS carry a Union Flag? Just been visiting 1977?

before the Tardis was a Tardis it WAS an actual police box. I’m wondering if the police box appeared as a prop in the movie itself (which, being made in 1981, may fit within the time frame of those boxes still in use). Considering a policeman pops out and not a Time Lord, that may be the key.

They were pretty much gone by 1970, though Glasgow and Edinburgh kept them for a bit longer.

Indeed; I was poking gentle fun at the authenticity mavens in Who fandom.
