Philomena trailer: give Judi Dench back her son!

Ooo, not only do we get serious(ish) Steve Coogan, he cowrote the screenplay, too.

Plus we get Judi Dench and Stephen Frears. So much goodness in yet another story about the inhuman awfulness of the Catholic Church. Hooray, I guess.

This is at London Film Festival, so I’ll get to see it soon. Definitely hooray!

Looks a very interesting film – pity I’m not in London at the moment to see it. A friend of mine was a “relinquishing mother” whose child was taken from her in similar circumstances. Will have to look out for it in Australia.

Just checked – looks like I’ve got to wait until nearly Christmas to see it here.

The trailer makes it look horribly clichéd (particularly the bit with Sixmith talking to his partner) but that’s what trailers are for.

This is on my list. But, golly, I never thought I’d hear Judi Dench say “clitoris”!
