If I’d seen this trailer before I saw the film (at this year’s London Film Festival), I’m not sure I’d be all that impressed with it. Impressed with the cast? Sure. But the story is really not “spoiled rich famous dude gets to do whatever he wants,” which is how this trailer kinda makes it look. (To be fair, what the film is probably couldn’t be boiled down into two minutes.)
Having seen the trailer without having seen the film, I wasn’t all that impressed with it. But the title hints at something more.
Good to see Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas together again, though the fact that she’s now the *mother* of the woman he’s having an illicit affair with is a bit weird – or maybe sadly predictable.

Yes, it seems there are perfectly legit historical reasons for that casting. But it’s still a little funny.
