This week’s Question comes via bronxbee, who wants to know:
Has a movie or TV show ever so inspired you that you actually changed something about your body, wardrobe, or home? If not, what film or TV show would come closest to getting you to change your personal style?
She was inspired by a photo gallery at Yahoo! Movies in which fan show off their Hunger Games tattoos. (We’re sure to see more like this since Catching Fire broke box-office records in North America and the U.K. [via press release] this past weekend.)
I have no tattoos, and at the moment, I’m living in a one small room, so there’s not much opportunity for putting my stamp on it beyond slapping some postcards up on the wall. I do enjoy wearing my TARDIS or Kermit the Frog earrings once in a while, however.
You?
(If you have a suggestion for a Question, feel free to email me.)
It’s funny, I was actually thinking about just this thing the other day. If I were to get a tattoo, it would either be “42” or “don’t panic”. Not sure which. 42 is nice because it’s more subtle. But don’t panic is good advice in general.
Does learning how to make your body do something count? I learned how to quizzically raise one eyebrow because I loved how Robert Hays did it in the TV version of Starman.
Likewise, only I learned it in imitation of Nimoy’s Spock.
I own an exact, fitted replica of Han Solo’s jacket from The Empire Strikes Back. Does that count?
After Raiders of the Lost Ark came out, someone gave me a fedora. I did wear it for a long time.
Would really love to be able to afford the furniture in Borgen, especially the lamps/lighting fixtures
if we count all media, my sisters and i were so taken with the book The Mists of Avalon, that we all came pretty close to having crescent moons tattooed on our foreheads. we settled for buying crescent moon necklaces. same with the serpent rings from the Eye of the World series.
