Third Contact trailer: indie “shot in London, not about gangsters”

Writer-director Simon Horrocks, on his Twitter profile, describes his film Third Contact thusly:

Film shot in London. Not about gangsters.

That alone piqued my interest. But now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m even more intrigued. A science fiction film! About ideas! How wonderful.

The film has no distribution yet, but Horrocks did use Kickstarter to fund a screening at London’s BFI IMAX this summer that did very well. That’s a good omen that the film may be more widely available eventually.

Maybe a bit too consciously weird? But as long as Horrocks has read All the Myriad Ways and wants to go further, this could be good.

That trailer’s from 2011, though… I hope something comes together.
