say hello to Weekend Watchlist, delivered to subscribers’ in-boxes every Friday

Get streaming recommendations via email or app by joining my Substack or Patreon... even for free!

Today I launched Weekend Watchlist, in which I hope to save you from endlessly scrolling Netflix, Amazon, and other VOD services and point you to the best new films and hidden gems to stream. Emails will go out every Friday to paying Substack subscribers and Patreon patrons. The first one’s free, and you can read it now at Substack and Patreon.

The default settings when you subscribe at both Patreon and Substack are for you to get new posts by email, so these recommendations will land in your in-box when they’re published. But you can customize what emails you receive from either service, if you prefer not to get the emails and read the posts on those sites instead.

I will focus on streaming services in the US and the UK (with links for quick access), because that’s where most of you reading this are, but some of the films may be available elsewhere on the planet, too.

I hope you’ll join me, if you’re not already with me on Patreon or Substack.

There are no ads here at Flick Filosopher, no sponsored posts or paid link placements, no annoying pop-ups or autoplay videos. Becoming a paid Substack subscriber or Patreon patron supports my work here, as do the Apple and Amazon affiliate links you’ll find around the site and in the Weekend Watchlist emails — please use them.

Thank you for your support!

I refuse to give Bezos (which my automistake consistently tries to “correct” to Bezoar) any money at all. So, if I only can watch on Prime, I don’t see it.

I wish there was some way that this mattered to that smear of rotted cabbage.

If he’s not careful, he’ll go broke in 60 years.

I’m afraid there will surely be some movies I will recommend that are only on Prime. But I respect your position!

Oh I know!! Not judging anyone for either watching on Prime or reviewing or whatever. I just have found that I can’t keep it out of my brain and I made a decision to just avoid it. I’m weird.
