Escape from Planet Earth (trailer)

Aliens. They’re aliens. They’re blue. They could have had no gender at all.

And they’re still male. This is still the story of “two brothers.”

*grrrrr*

I hate that that’s the first thing I notice. But perhaps that’s not such a bad thing, cuz beyond the usual sexism of Hollywood’s narrowmindedness, this looks pretty awful.

“Deep… In the heart of the universe…”

Is that above the liver of the universe?

RogerBW’s rule of thumb: Any trailer which features a shot where all the dialogue is one or more characters going “whooooah” is not for a film worth seeing.
Go on, film, prove me wrong. I wish you would, rather than turning out to be Cosmic Manchildren.

I imagine if I saw this preview in a theater, there’d be a lot of people laughing, but I didn’t laugh once. Every single joke I guessed before it showed up onscreen. “There’s the set-up, now what will happen is…” *proven right* Being so utterly predictable is the antithesis of humor.
