Ha ha, the giant mobile phone! A nice reminder of how things have changed. Phones got tiny, and greed got institutional.

Ha ha, I can’t help it: The presence of Shia LaBeouf as Shia LaBeouf makes me wonder if giant alien robots will show up to stomp on the New York Stock Exchange, or if perhaps a bullwhip-wielding archaeologist will announce the Gordon Gecko belongs in a museum

I do love Carey Mulligan, though. Why couldn’t she be the sharky young MBA who gets drawn under Gecko’s spell? It looks like she won’t have much to do here except stand around and cry. What a waste of her talent…

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps opens in the U.S. and Canada on September 24, and in the U.K. on October 6.
