question of the weekend: What does being a grownup mean to you?
Being a grownup means you can wear your pajamas all day if you want to, and nobody can stop you. A 9-year-old of my acquaintance is jealous of me because of this.

The blockbuster season is creeping up on us, and with it comes the specter of really really terrible movies. It’s as inevitable as sunburn, sand in your sneakers, and mosquito bites. My ultimate awful summer movie? I imagine it might look something like this…
Star Trek writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have said that they plan to heed some suggestions from fans as they write the sequels. Oh, dear. I’m not sure how wise this is…
Peter and Bobby Farrelly have cast MadTV’s Will Sasso as Curly and Will & Grace’s Sean Hayes as Larry. Will it be someone from the small screen as Moe, too? And who should it be?

Film director Michael Bay announced today, April 1, that his next project would be a 10-part miniseries adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel American Gods. Bay revealed that Shia LaBeouf has been cast Shadow, the ex-convict who unwittingly takes a job as a bodyguard for Odin, who will be played by Bruce Willis…
Who could possibly make such a decision about when to retire accept an artist herself? Is there any way to mandate a retirement age for artists except by audiences refusing to participate as audiences anymore (which still wouldn’t prevent an artist from making art, only from having it seen)?
Jonathan London at Geekscape has posted a downright desperate screed attempting to defend Zack Snyder and his Sucker Punch by simultaneously insisting that the film is not terrible, and also that if geeks hate the film it means they hate themselves. Oh, and we’re just jealous of Snyder, anyway.
