trailer break: ‘Toy Story 3’ teaser

Take a break from work: watch a trailer…

This garnered huge applause at the midnight screening of Up I attended last night. It does hit all the right notes: the rivalry between Buzz and Woody and the larger rivalry between old-fashioned toys with their charming feeling of handcraftedness (though Woody was probably manufactured in Korea) and new high-tech toys that need batteries to do whatever they do. All the other toys get their perfect little moments, too.

Nicely done.

Toy Story 3 opens in the U.S. on June 18, 2010, and in the U.K. on July 23, 2010.

I can’t help but wonder whether or not you’ll be invited to any advance screenings. You did use a nice tone in your little blurb, after all. Think Disney will notice? Or do you even care?

Looking forward to the movie. Glad to see that they have all the original actors back.

Well, not all of them… rest in peace, Ernest. Much love.

I think Newbs means Jim Varney, who did the voice of Slinky-dog.

…and also played Ernest. :)
